Definicja application server

ABAP runtime environment (BC-ABA) software layer of the SAP System , in which the application programs are executed. An SAP System may contain several application servers. These communicate with the presentation server, the database server and with each other. The most important components of an application server are its work processes. The number and type of work processes are specified when the SAP System is started. Other components are the SAP Gateway and the Internet Communication Manager (ICM).
