Function of Global ATP.
CTP means calling Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) when the requested product is not fully available. During the ATP check, receipt elements are created in SAP APO. These can be planned orders or purchase requisitions. The material availability of component requirements for planned orders is checked using pegging in liveCache.
Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling can be called using the basic methods or using the rules-based ATP check.
In Customizing for the basic methods (check instructions) it is possible to define the production type (for example, production first or availability check first, then production) and the production time.
In the rules-based ATP check, production is configured using the location determination activity.
