This US law requires an employer to offer continued coverage to individuals participating in group health plans who, as a result of a qualifying event, lose coverage under the same terms and conditions as effective immeditely prior to the event. On loss of coverage due to a qualifying event, an employee and/or enrolled dependents are eligible to coverage continuation under the provisions of the COBRA regulations.
