Describes the functions of communication parties with regard to message exchange.

The profile of a communication party consists of its identifier, services, interfaces, and communication channels. To create a collaboration profile, define the objects communication party, service, and communication channel.

In SAP Exchange Infrastructure, you can address senders or receivers of messages on two levels. The objects communication party and service are available for this purpose. For example, if you want to address a company or a business partner, you can use the object communication party. To address technical or business units, you use the object service. You can use this object without the object communication party or for further structuring with the object communication party.
