Definicja day patient hospital treatment

Hospital treatment given to patients who routinely spend less than 24 hours a day in the hospital. This treatment is usually given in either a day clinic or a night clinic.

Patients only spend part of the day there receiving medical treatment. They spend the rest of the time outside the facility.

In contrast to outpatient hospital treatment, the day patient is officially admitted to hospital, in other words the hospital sends an admission notification to the relevant health insurance carrier.
