Definicja external physician

Usually a specialist, who is not a salary-drawing employee of the hospital, involved in providing inpatient medical care. Besides giving ambulatory care to patients in his/her own surgery, he/she provides inpatient care for these patients (and for the patients of other physicians referred to him/her) in departments or hospitals that accommodate external physicians.
