Definicja gratuity

A payment effected by the employer at specific times or for specific reasons, such as at Christmas, after a number of years of service, or for leave.

Gratuities are paid in addition to employee remuneration.

Gratuities are not gifts. They are paid in recognition of work performed and as an incentive.

There is, however, a distinction between gratuities and other types of remuneration effected on an individual basis for work performed, increased productivity, extra work, and specific conduct.

Employees have no legal right to gratuities, neither by law nor in accordance with the employer's obligation to provide certain benefits and medical welfare.
