Definicja JavaServer Pages
JavaServer Pages are an extension of the Java Servlet technology that provides a simple programming vehicle for displaying dynamic content on a Web page. Created by Sun, JSP technology provides HTML pages with embedded Java source code that is executed in the Web server or application server. The HTML provides the page layout that will be returned to the Web browser, the Java provides the processing/scripting. Examples are a query to the database, and filling blank input fields of the Web page with results.
Comparable technologies are ASP (by Microsoft) and ABSP (by SAP).
Compared to the technology provided by Web Dynpro, page technology has higher maintenance costs.
