A measurement for evaluating a company's business strategy, performance, or technology.
Key performance indicators express abstract company objectives in financial or physical units for comparative purposes.
For example, in the SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) area, data pertaining to the various planning processes (such as demand planning orproduction planning) is collected, measured and transformed into physical or financial information. This can be used to compare results and measure the company's performance according to known benchmarking criteria.
