The environment in which all portal users perform their daily tasks, according to the roles defined for them within the organization. The runtime environment is browser-based, responding to events triggered by the user, who can navigate among business-related content for viewing and analysis.

Runtime provides localization capabilities, defined by user locale parameters, as well as offering the user the ability to personalize portal appearance and the organization of information. The portal runtime environnment is directly affected by the actions of administrators during design time.
