Definicja series

A system object that represents a group of sequentially numbered billing documents. In Brazil, it represents a group of notas fiscaís and in India, it represents a group of excise invoices.

Example

In Brazil, the authorities could require you to number two set of notas fiscaís, both from 1001 through 5000. You create two series, AA and BB, so that you can assign a unique number to all of the notas fiscaís, for example, AA-1001.
