Contractual agreement regarding the provision of collateral agreed between two business partners. The business partners agree to transfer collateral (usually securities or an amount of money) as soon as the market value of the trading transactions covered in the agreement exceeds a certain amount known as the threshold amount. The same threshold amount does not necessarily apply to each contractual partner: different threshold amounts may be agreed.
