In general, core service adaptation enables you to compose a UI- or consumer-driven view of business objects and their core services in a well-defined, controlled way.
This is necessary because in some cases the core services offered do not match the requirements of UI design for example, if you want to combine fields of two business object nodes or use a sequence of operations as a new action within the UI. Core service adaptations can handle some of these requirements.
Core service adaptation is not a generic, multi-purpose, service composition mechanism; rather, it comprises the following fixed set of adaptations (available in NW 05):
