An object that determines whether the reported financial data is cumulative (year-to-date) or periodic:

Periodic data refers to the values that belong to the current period. Thus, the values represent the changes since the last data entry. Cumulative data refers to the values as of the statement date. The SAP system, however, stores the values periodically after an automatic computation of differences to the previous balance has been performed.
