Period in which a benefit in health, care, or accident insurance is interrupted.

Example:

Participant role of Caregiver:

In care insurance, when a caregiver takes vacation and is therefore temporarily unable to care for the person requiring care, care is interrupted for the period in question (such as four weeks).

Participant role of Claimant:

In care insurance, when the claimant requiring care needs to be admitted into hospital, care is interrupted for two weeks, for example.
