A process used by the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) to handle multiple languages.
The ITS supports multiple languages through the Unicode character set (ISO 10646), which is also used by Microsoft Windows NT. This approach avoids the complicated handling of multi-byte character sets (MBCS) inside the ITS.
However, when the ITS interfaces with external components such as the file system, the Web server or the SAP system, it can convert from Unicode to whatever multi-byte code page is required.
