The Open Catalog Interface (OCI) enables you to use Web based product catalogs in SRM Server applications by connecting them up via the Internet or an intranet.

If a product catalog supports the OCI interface, product data can be transferred directly from this catalog to the relevant application. All communications between the product catalog and the SRM service are handled by the user's browser. This communication is entirely HTTP based.
