Co znaczy PHASE (CA-GTF-ECM):

Segment in the life cycle of a product in which one product is described by different data.

The change process comprises multiple process steps that affect different departments and different phases in the life cycle of a product. An assignment of object states to phases means that precisely the data that is relevant to a change step is processed in this change step.

Companies can define a sequence of phases:

By selecting a release key, you determine the phase in the product life cycle for which the data is released. By defining a context, you assign phases to organizational units. Product data is processed with reference to a context. This data is then valid exclusively in a selected context.

These are some examples of typical phases in the life cycle of a product:

Engineering phase (as engineered) Planning phase (as planned) Prototype phase (as prototyped) Repetitive manufacturing (as produced)

Using the phase to control the change process is equivalent to using the release key of engineering change management in mySAP ERP (application component LO-ECH).
