Definicja product class hierarchy

A structure used to organize products within the product variant structure (PVS).

This aspect is used in the automotive industry for the platform strategy, whereby the same platform is used for the production of various vehicles. The class "Car" is assigned the class "Vehicles". The "Car" class is subdivided into the classes "Sports car", "Station wagon" and "Standard". All three are built on the same platform, which means that they can all have the same chassis.
