Definicja provisional inflation index

An inflation index published by a statistical office or other government agency that indicates the estimated rate of inflation for a specific period pending the publication of the final figures.

The final rate of inflation is published in a definitive inflation index.

Not all countries publish provisional indexes. In many countries, definitive indexes only are published.
