A style describes the basic form of ad content, and the admissible design options:

The basic form defines the width of the ad content and the horizontal and vertical containers, and text and image blocks that it contains. Design options define fonts, bullets, indents, paragraph styles, borders, and other design elements that can be used in a style.

You can use a style to stipulate that ad content is to contain two columns and the Arial and Times New Roman fonts in point sizes six and eight.
