A process to summarize a key figure in a report with reference to a specific time-based field (for example, period).
It does not, for example, make sense to sum the number of employees over several periods. However, it is meaningful to calculate the average over the periods. When dealing with share prices, the maximum, minimum and average prices within a period are of interest, and not the sum.
