A set of tables used to store time series for a time series data type.

The validity of a time series data area is restricted by the relevant time series data type that describes the technical structure of the time series data area. The validity of a time series data area can additionally be restricted to certain time series types, characteristic values, or characteristic-value combinations. You can use multiple time series data areas to subdivide large volumes of data into several table groups.
