The process in which entitlement to benefits that are not yet in an employee's scope is transferred to an employee.
This entitlement lasts beyond the employee's period of service with a company. If the employee leaves the company, for whatever reason, the employee retains this entitlement.
In the case of bankruptcy or liquidation the entitlement must be honored.
