Document informing the vendor which product quantities to deliver and when to deliver them.

The operative delivery schedule provides the vendor with reliable and precise delivery data pertaining to the near future. This schedule usually takes the form of instructions to deliver on specific days or even at specific times of the day.

Note

In addition to operative delivery schedules, there are also forecast/planning delivery schedules. As the name implies, the information provided in the latter is longer-term and indicative in nature (generally without commitment).
