Definicja query syntax
The description of a formal structure of a character string, which is interpreted as a search query by a search engine.
The query syntax of search engines is not standardized and must therefore be determined separately for every search engine which should be accessed. The character string formed according to the syntax is transferred to the Web server as part of the URL, and is evaluated by the search engine.
This activity takes place automatically when the search engine is operated interactively. On the other hand, programs, which access a search engine as a client (for example, the backend software of meta search engines), must execute the embedding of search terms in a well-formed character string corresponding to the query syntax.
