The smallest physical object that can be identified in a logistics process.

A stock item contains, amongst other things, the stock quantity, and cannot be further divided in the logistics process. It can be further divided in production.

Material, trade item, stockkeeping unit, lot, serial number, manufacturer part number. A value-only article is a stock item that uses the currency unit as its unit of measure.
