The index function enables you to conduct a search across the primary objects.

For example, you can search for financial transactions involving specific attributes of specific business partners. This flexibility is possible because separate index tables are kept for each primary object, and these index tables can be linked to each other. The index function uses characteristics as search criteria. Further details of the primary object IDs displayed in the search results can then be read by accessing the primary objects.
