The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is loosely organized, primarily in working groups and mailing lists, and open to anyone interested in participating.

Its members are an international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet.
